Following the book release, there was a heated discussion on nationalism with Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party Chairperson Mahant Thakur and Nepali Congress senior leader Pradip Giri.
The book “Battles of The New Republic” is author Jha’s personal account of the country’s political transition, delving into the civil war, the peace process, the role played by the Maoists, the writing of the constitution, and the question of Madhes, among other areas. It gives a glimpse of Nepal’s contemporary history of the last 20 years.
The Nepali translation has been published at a time when the country is passing through the political stalemate and many, especially those are looking for Nepali books of contemporary political history of the country.
Journalist Suresh Yadav, who works for the state-owned Gorkhapatra said while purchasing a copy of the book at the stall:
I was looking for Nepali translation of Battles of New Republic since its publication in 2014. Finally, I got the Nepali translation.
The Nepali translation of Jha’s book has ended the long wait of many readers like Yadav.
The Nepali translated book “Ganatantra ko Sangharsha” will also be released in Janakpur on Monday.
